about us

Bienvenu!

The stately 19th century townhouse exterior with its smile-inducing “hens” sign. The first whiff of the unmistakable aroma upon entering Le Perche’s front bakery section. The timeless dolce far niente of guests slowly sipping cappuccinos and nibbling buttery croissants at the long, green marble bar: it all begs the question, “Are we in France or in the Hudson Valley?”

Indeed, Le Perche is unique! We operate both as a bakery and a daytime eatery, the only such concept in town. Our renowned breakfasts, brunches, and lunches are French-inspired, with all ingredients sourced locally. The array of freshly brewed coffees, refreshing zero alcohol beverages, and a compelling cocktails and “Bubbly” section pair seamlessly with the straightforward, yet delicious cuisine.

Our bakery, situated in a two-story carriage house overlooking the covered garden, makes artisanal Le Perche baguettes, Viennoiseries, breads, pastries, and other baked goods daily – all freshly baked and impossibly delicious. This is in part due to a rare 17-ton, circular oven that is wood-fired, brought over brick by brick from France’s little-known Le Perche region – celebrated for its distinctive (and mouth-watering) baguettes.

Le Perche offers inside table service at the long bar or in its country chic, minimalist dining rooms spanning two floors, graced with original artwork by Vladimir Bachinsky and David Drake. During the winter months, cozy up to our roaring fireplace. In the warmer seasons enjoy outdoor dining in our spacious courtyard garden that features a whimsical Beaux-Arts-like transparent cover in case of inclement weather. A peaceful, nature-filled oasis mere steps away from the hustle and bustle of Warren Street.

We also handle bespoke private dining and special events that are très formidable – please click on the PRIVATE EVENTS button for more information.

We hope to see you soon, and merci!
